ORGT Backpacking maintains
a sizeable inventory of quality backpacking
gear for rental by qualified backcountry travelers...
What do we rent?
ORGT has a selection
of:
- Synthetic sleeping
bags rated between 55°F and 0°F
- Sleeping pads
- Internal
frame backpacks with volumes for weekends or weeks
- 3 and 4 season 1, 2 &
3 person backpacking tents
- Liquid and Isobutane fuel backpacking
stoves
- And a few bits of miscellaneous
gear including: water filters, snowshoes, pack covers, bivy sacks,
day packs, trekking poles, rain gear and more...
ORGT Backpacking gear
comes from high quality makers, including The North Face,
Gregory, Mountainsmith, MSR, Sierra Designs, REI and others.
Is ORGT gear the same as Wilderness
Outpost gear?
Wilderness Outpost (WOP), though in the same building as ORGT,
operates out of a different inventory of gear. WOP gear is available
to the entire student body and doesn't require becoming a qualified
renter. WOP also carries gear for other sports, including quietwater
canoes and rafts.
What other resources does ORGT Backpacking
have?
ORGT also carries a number of supplies
to make planning a trip into the backcountry easier. ORGT has
dozens of guidebooks for areas within a few hours of Atlanta,
as well as hundreds of USGS and other topographic maps. Stop
by and check them out!
